Airport arrival & departure boards

Live boards for the busiest airports worldwide.

What to do if your flight is disrupted

  • If it's cancelled or delayed 3+ hours, you're often owed a rebook or refund — the airline usually won't offer the best option unprompted.
  • Consolidator and unpublished fares aren't on Kayak or Expedia — a phone quote finds them fast.
  • Have your PNR/confirmation ready when you call so we can pull up your booking and move you.

Flight status & rebooking FAQ

How do I check the live status of a flight?

Enter the flight number (airline code + digits, like AA100 or DL215) in the tracker above. You'll see the current state — scheduled, en route, delayed, diverted, landed or cancelled — plus scheduled and estimated times, the gate when available, and the aircraft type. Data refreshes every 30–60 seconds while the flight is active.

What flight number format does the tracker accept?

Use the marketing carrier's 2-letter IATA code followed by the flight digits, with no space — for example AA100, DL215, UA523, BA178. Codeshare flights are usually easiest to find under the operating carrier's number. If a lookup returns no data, double-check the code and confirm the flight is scheduled for today.

My flight is delayed — am I owed compensation?

Under EU261, delays of 3+ hours arriving in the EU on qualifying carriers pay €250–€600 in cash when the cause is within the airline's control (crew, maintenance, IT). In the US, the DOT's 2024 rule requires automatic cash refunds for cancellations and 'significant' delays (3+ hours domestic, 6+ hours international) when you choose not to travel. See our delay compensation guide for the full rulebook.

My flight is cancelled — what does the airline owe me?

A full cash refund of the unused portion, or rebooking on the next available flight (same or partner carrier) at no additional cost. Basic-economy and non-refundable fares are still refundable when the airline cancels. In the US, the 2024 DOT rule requires automatic cash refunds within 7 business days for credit-card purchases.

Should I rebook in the airline app or call?

For cancellations, calling almost always wins. The app rebooks you on the airline's next same-route flight, which is often 12–24 hours out. A live agent can quote partner carriers, alternate airports, split tickets, and consolidator inventory — and ticket the winning combination in one call. Typical rebook time on our desk is 6–12 minutes.

Can I get rebooked on a different airline?

Often yes. Most major US carriers still honor interline rebooking on cancellations, but only when you ask and inventory is available. Consolidator and IATA-accredited agencies see partner-carrier availability the airline's own desk sometimes can't ticket — the single biggest reason to call rather than queue.

How fast can CheapoTrav rebook me?

Typical rebook time on our desk is 6–12 minutes from the moment you call. We pull your PNR, quote every reroute the airline's system shows plus consolidator alternatives on partner carriers, and reissue on the airline's ticket stock. No booking fee, US-based agents, 24/7.
